About the Presenters

Mella A. Castner (moderator), Director of Development, Akron Rotary Camp

Mella CastnerMella is a seasoned fundraising professional with over three decades of proven development experience for area non-profit organizations. At Rotary Camp, she is responsible for annually meeting the needed fundraising initiatives for operations, programming, capital projects, planned giving and special events. She is passionate about the legacy of area non-profits and mission-driven fundraising. Prior to joining Akron Rotary Camp, Mella was Development Officer/Annual Giving at the Summa Foundation, Director of Development at the Hattie Larlham Foundation and Senior Development/Operations Manager at Junior Achievement of Akron. She is president for WITAN, serves on the development committee for Community Support Services, and a member of the Rotary Club of Akron. Mella is also a past president of AFPNEO and was recognized with the National Philanthropy Day Outstanding Professional Fundraiser Award in 2019.

 

Joni Fitch, Manager, Global Community Engagement, The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company

Joni FitchJoni Fitch manages the Global Community Engagement function at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, where she has been employed since 2015. She is responsible for establishing the strategic direction of Goodyear’s corporate philanthropy, community engagement and associate volunteerism programs. Her role includes ensuring these programs align with and support the company’s business objectives. She is also responsible for execution, communication and measurement of efforts. She manages the company’s charitable contributions program, including the Goodyear Foundation, and works collaboratively with Goodyear’s global teams to build strong relationships internally and externally, helping reinforce Goodyear’s commitment to volunteerism and building a better future for the communities where Goodyear operates globally.
